Saw IV

This is a first for cinemavoir.com - a live review.
I am sitting here watching Saw 4 and it is that bad that I am happy to minimize the viewing screen to focus my attention on to more worthwhile things i.e. letting others know to avoid this monstrosity of a flick.
If you've seen any of the Saw movies (I hesitate to call them 'films') then you know what the basic premise is: people have to be willing to go through immense pain in order to live. The initial film did this well - it was intriguing and there was a good blend of suspense and horror. After that Lions Gate did the only decent thing and turned it to shit. Saw 2 was heavy on the gore but still kept things somewhat interesting to be fair. Saw 3 though was purely built on gore and the narrative ... sorry, lack of, was absolute shit. Watching people scream and die is not a storyline.
Saw 4 continues this same tradition. It is built around the gory death sentences but none of it is suspenseful or scary in the slightest. A few major plotholes have already been uncovered and the male protagonist is one of the dumbest people alive if he cannot work out how to solve even the simplest killing machines.
The script was written by a couple of deadbeats after a huge night out, that's the only possible way I could imagine this being written. The editing is hilariously bad (people jump between cuts) in a Star Wars episode 1 kind of way.
The film has gone through about ten minutes where I've been watching from the corner of my eye and its just more ridiculous nonsense. I'm going to go back to it now to see how it finishes to see how bad it will become. It's one of the worst films ever so I can't see it improving.
Enjoy.

The ugly truth
Have times changed?
They may not be known for their storylines and scripts but what scary movie is? Its not about the words its about the actions! You dont watch a Saw movie for enlightenment you watch it to be scared shitless! And to make you think how far you would go in order to live.
I think you hated this movie before it even began.
Live or die my friend.
